Drainus

I don't get to play as many of these types of games as I used to back in the old days, but this is one of the finer ones I've played in recent years. The visuals are wonderful. The hook (being able to absorb energy blasts from enemies and return fire with said energy) is satisfying. It doesn't make the game super easy, even with how gracious it is, but that's because the bosses and level design are inspired. Lots of upgrades to play the game as you want, along with a decent story.
