In ways, a bad game. Environments are boring, and the game makes fun of how repetitive it is with enemies. Combat has some variety with the weapons but the combo system is simple. I don't mind that though. Despite the criticisms, I love this shit. Okabe is incapable of making a non-ABSOLUTE BANGER soundtrack. My god it made everything epic. Zero's badass. Mikhail is the real heart. Insane story. I actually dug the gratuitous sex jokes. Unique. Not quite Nier but what is? Close enough.

Drakengard 3 is a bit of a black sheep in Draken-verse. It maintains a distinct personality thanks to the sharp writing when it isn't juvenile sex jokes of which there are too many. The story has some interesting ideas but they all feel half-baked and the DLC just further confuses things. The hack-and-slash gameplay is solid even considering the performance issues and the music of Okabe helps a lot. I think I would actually rank this last in Taro's works.

Drakengard 3 is a fair deal better than its predecessors in regards to gameplay, but it's still pretty unremarkable and suffers from some questionable performance issues. But at the very least I can say that the plot is something new. Compared to the first game, the plot comes off more as EDGY and immature than insane and intriguing. However, the game still exudes a strange and unique personality that's oddly charming, even if the writing can be extraordinarily asinine at times.
