Dujanah is weird, creative and intelligent. King-Spooner makes walking simulators but this one does have some more traditional gameplay... and even though I've been wanting that I feel it's the weakest part. When it sticks to what he is known for then it's still pretty awesome if you're into this kind of thing. The diverse and interesting visuals mesh perfectly with the music. Not his best work but still a damn good surrealist adventure game.

Dujanah tackles the psychology of death, from the sublime emotional acceptance to the trivialization by culture. This is elevated by its harsh surrealist style, which is raw and dirty with the occasionally incongruous displays of whimsy. Its messaging of death is complex with no attempt to spin it positively; for the core conflict there's no real catharsis. After all, in a world where we're ultimately powerless to stop war and death, what catharsis can we truly have?

This is a pretty interesting little adventure. The biggest flaw for me is that I think the path to "finishing" the game is a little off. I seem to have unintentionally rushed there in the fewest moves possible, missing a big chunk of the world and experience. It was pretty interesting, though. The writing often fascinated me more than I expected it to.
