Fate is a dumb series and the first game exemplifies this perfectly. The amount of words in this game is insane and the title is among one of the most ambitious VN in that regard, but there is far better literature you could be reading. The plot in Fate is convoluted, poorly paced, and non-sensical - Shirou's motivations are retarded, as is his characterization. This is topped off with over-expository writing, poor focus, and some of the most laughable H-scenes ever. Fate sucks.
