Having been made by one person it's pretty impressive what he did with the artwork; the environments are diverse but there is real attention to detail here, and the character models are wonderfully animated. The action also feels incredibly smooth and polished. The characters are pretty interesting, there's some decent humour here, the story has a good premise but it feels a little light. I don't LOVE this mostly because the gameplay seems pretty basic compared to the greats of the genre.

Iconoclasts gets creative with its puzzles but they're generally pretty one-dimensional in scope. Bosses run the gamut of being really well-design to overly gimmicky. In both cases; however, the game adds so much variety and polish in its gameplay that it never gets boring despite some sections of the game being pretty lame. The plot has a few good scenes, but it mostly consists of shitty, stilted writing that has a fundamentally juvenile perspective of both religion and real world conflict.

A lot of love was put into this to make an indie, story-driven semi-metroidvania with lots of content. Unfortunately the narrative is convoluted and the gameplay often just isn't fun.

Bit tedious. Too much story. Later bosses are bullshit.

Couldn’t get too into it; set it aside after a couple hours. Not sure if it was the story/aesthetic or the gameplay. Probably a mix of both.
