Very fun and a bit innovative when it launched. I don't remember the story but it impressed me as a kid.

Didn't bring anything new after 2-3 years of the first one. Also much shorter gameplay duration. And easier to play. No soul in it. The gameplay is smooth and the levels were ok but. Its a step down compared to the OG

The suddenly generically handsome Max returns, in a game that turns out rather easier than the first, in part thanks to all those heavily scripted (and sometimes amusingly chatty) enemy approaches that allow *you* to be the one setting up the ambushes more often than not this time. With even more interesting level concepts than last time, and plenty more of that oddly humorous intersection of highly-wrought madness and dry self-deflation.

All these games get a 95 because if they don't Max Payne will depressively monologue.

My favorite story in a videogame ever told, and my favorite level in a videogame ever played. What's not to love?

A film-noir bullet-time action-detective novel, in video game form. An engaging, gritty story, tied together with nightmarish flashbacks of Max's past, dry comic relief, and satisfying slow-motion gun-dive gameplay form an incredibly satisfying experience. Just don't watch the movie expecting it to be anything like this masterpiece.

Fantastic goddamn sequel with an excellent story and characters. Plus I liked that Poets of the Fall song before I realised how bad that entire post-grunge genre is.
