Metal Gear: Ghost Babel

It's paint-by-the-numbers Metal Gear Solid in terms of story but the gameplay and presentation is way more like the old MSX2 games. As interesting as this is - and I LOVE MGS games - the fact that it's such a carbon copy of old games and there are dragging sections in the middle makes me not push this higher in the rankings.

The best Metal Gear game Kojima didn't make.

An odd title for the GBC as it was much heavier on plot than any other GBC title I can think of. The plot was pretty underwhelming despite how much play time it takes up, but the 2D take on MG is much more polished and refined in this game than past games. Unfortunately, the game suffers from a cumbersome item menu (due to the hardware) and some puzzles the game utilizes are a bit obnoxious. Ultimately you won't get something as creative and well made as MGS, but it's a solid demake if anything.
