Switched. The atmosphere & music is great. But fps gameplay on controllers is unintuitive & unnatural: looking around is robot-ty & unfun, heavy reliance on auto-aim hack spam, & the constant need to switching beam & visors disturb the flow. 3d metroidvania exploration is way more difficult than 2d. I hate that there's a lot of one way street. Wasted lots of time circling around & can't find hidden thing to progress. Stopped at Phazon Mines due to lack of save points. Switched to gamecube ver.

Idk it’s weird to rate the same game twice when it’s just a remaster lol. The original I gave a perfect 10, but if I’m being honest relative to more modern standards I guess the game could use a fast travel system and maybe more of a gentle guiding toward missile packs so I don’t have to use an online guide. Still really enjoyed replaying it though.

It's just a prettier, better version of a game that was immaculate to begin with. At this point in my life, I like forgiving checkpoints, but that's a me thing. This game still feels great with excellent atmosphere. There's deep lore there too if you want to invest in it.
