There are some great ideas here that laid the foundations for the future of WRPGs, but the original has a lot of frustrating dead ends, red herrings, and unsolvable puzzles even for the time. By today's standards it is archaic and largely unplayable, but it's an interesting relic for old computer RPG fans.

I liked this a lot more than I had expected, possibly because I used a UI mod ("Where are we?") that added an automap and made the gameplay mechanics a lot more transparent. A hugely enjoyable game, with the cleverly designed open world and the varied selection of useful spells being particular highlights.
