Best NHL game ever. You can control your goalie in this to save shots. If you try to do that in the newer versions like nhl 19 you won't save anything. 1 timers were introduced. Also player stat cards and record holders in this game. This is the first one they took out the fighting.

Still one of the best sports games ever made. It's a game that my friends and I still play to this day and will probably play until we die. The introduction of one timers and the ability to control your goalie elevated this leaps and bounds from the previous entry in the series. They also added real NHL logos and team names, rather than just the cities and colors of the teams. Jeremy Roenick of the Blackhawks was so overpowered in this game it was disgusting. He was the Bo Jackson of hockey.
