Putting aside the detriments brought about by its age, this just didn't click with me in the way the first did. Replaces a lot of the stealth focus with action, then introduces elements that work against it. Still, it retains some of its psychedelic charm and has a good sense of humour, if delivered through a basic script and acting.

Could have easily been a 85/87 if there were no those level with guards spawning infinitely. Takes out all the incentive go use stealth. Still as fun as the first one.

I liked NOLF 2 less than The Operative. Part of the carefree charm was gone and the game felt more stale. The new mechanics and weapons didn't feel as if they had a place in the game, not in the manner that every trick the game presented in the first part had a particular use whose implementation more often than not felt good. NOLF 2 doesn't present as many options for the player to feel like a spy, but rather stimulates an action approach. Still good + great characters. /completed June'21
