The peak of open-ended game design. There's not much that can be said about it that the game doesn't say for itself-- please play it if you are at all interested with interactivity in art and storytelling.

The basic mechanics are fantastic. The health/injury system, for example, is groundbreakingly great. This makes the game worthwhile and quite addictive despite the poor content design. The overworld map is nearly pointless, factions are barely interactive and mean very little, research speed is too fast, traits are poorly thought out. The esoteric and far-fetched is given precedence over the intuitive and compelling, especially in the shitty DLCs. Much untapped potential here.

Kind of interesting for a few rounds but I feel it is mostly a pile of game mechanics (like the silly bedroom requirements) desperately trying to be a game. It's hard and tedious to manage the jobs you've assigned to colonists and make sure everything is getting done.

I only ended up playing 20 hours or so before real life intervened, but from what I saw everything ends in cannibalism.
