Whilst the grotesque, H.R. Giger inspired visuals draw you in initially, the frustratingly vague puzzles and lack of direction simply make this a bore to play.

The combat mechanics are far from stellar; skulking around corners to dodge long-range assaults before counterattacking a creature is monotonous. That being said, the game takes the concept of Giger-porn and cranks it up to an extra-giga level. If you harbor even a hint of admiration for the artist, it's a feast for the eyes.

Incredible aesthetic offset by tolerable puzzles and frustrating combat. I honestly think this would be better as a straight-up walking simulator, even if the cool weapon designs would be lost. Fortunately, its short length means a bit of patience and determination will still allow you to see all the incredible sights its world provides. A complete lack of offering any reason as to why anything that happens happens or what your overarching aim is in most of what you do only adds to its allure.

This is the perfect example of a game that needed more playtesting. While outstanding in some respects (the art design, the atmosphere), the combat just got to be a tedious slog that I eventually had to quit around the 4 hour mark. I hope the developers take the feedback, release an update that nerfs or removes the enemies, and then maybe I'll come back and finish the game sometime. As is it starts off well but eventually wears out its welcome.
