Shantae: Half-Genie Hero

This game is very polished and has a good art style, but the backtracking through levels does not feel very organic and somewhat forced. If this game was a Metroidvania, this game would be much better, or if they did away with the backtracking all together. The DLCs fixed this and just make you play through all of the levels normally in order. Overall though, the gameplay is a lot of fun, and this game does a lot to expand on other elements that were in other games of the series.

Trash game. Poor version of Aladdin. Too much reading in this game is 1 thing that already put me off about this game. The fact that it incorporates a lot of RPG elements into this game. You get 4 helpers with you that you have to change in order to go from point A to B. First Boss was complex until I noticed I had to hit the eyes of the boat. More reading when they speak. Then the conveyor belts you keep dying. I just quit it at the point. Just play Aladdin which is much simpler.

Fun level design, though I admit I enjoyed the more freeform exploration of the Metroidvania-style worlds of previous games. This one has a bit more of a Mega Man X feel to it, but well done.
