Skate Story

The fact that I ended up liking this as much as I did despite it containing several elements I find perennially annoying (vaporwave aesthetics, doggerel with haphazard scansion and grammar, faux-profundities delivered in a quirky modern fairy tale tone) is a testament to the strength of the execution; the sound, visuals, and physics often cohere beautifully. Even the student-film indulgences can be charming, though I'd much rather the experience had been a 'Thumper'-like wordless fever dream.
