Tales of Xillia

Xillia's main plot is a big pile of whatever and the cast is hit and miss, especially the really dumb writing surrounding Alvin. But the party bants and general personality won me over enough for me to say that the narrative as a whole wasn't a total downer. As a game, there's a lot of cool things the game does with its combo system and general move utility that makes it fun to experiment with, even if the enemy design is pretty bland. Bosses at least try something, but quality runs the gamut.
