Tekken 4

Not as bad as I remember, but still a huge drop off in quality from Tekken 3.

fucking loved this game. all the story mode stories and cinematics. and that weird beatemupish mode was dope

Tekken 4 was ambitious in what it wanted to do in the fighting genre and for Tekken in general, but it was pretty dumb in many ways. For example, the stage design, while massive and dynamic, caused stupid things like uneven floors and objects that broke the flow of the combat. The mechanics like position change were incredibly moronic, especially since they lead to really dumb wall infinites. Tekken 4 was progressive in game fluidity and it did introduce good ideas, but it was overall a letdown.
