DnD in all its convoluted, turn-based glory, to an extent few would dare attempt. Want to cast a spell to make the ground slippery, trip some enemies with a pole axe, and then try to remember whether or not the backstabbing multiplier you've been maxing out applies to prone enemies? Well, this is that kind of game. Don't expect the usual level of Troika detail from the towns or recruits, and *do* expect to install a bugfix patch, and have some fun gaming the systems.

As much as I liked the Baldur's Gate type games, this was my favorite DnD game, due to the turn-based combat. I miss those.

Fantastic turn based combat, severely lacking enemy variety, and one of the most boring starting villages ever created. I've never managed to finish this game, simply because of the enormous number of trash enemies clogging up the game's final section. Mind you, I can totally understand why they did this; there's at most ten hours of actual content in the game. Also known as "Temple of Evil Bugbears". [If you want to play it, I recommend the Temple Plus mod to further improve the combat.]

Mood, atmosphere, engagement....then you get TPK'd by giant toads two minutes after leaving the intro town.
