If I hadn't played the better sequels, I would have never placed this one at all. It's just not good enough to stand on it's own merits, it's just OK.

The original Timesplitters doesn't quite match the quality of its sequels but is still a great game in its own right. The single-player campaign is really barebones, but the multiplayer was still great and the single player missions, while basic, was still pretty fun. The PS2 controller isn't the ideal controller method for a shooter, but Timesplitters manages to make it feel as fluid, fast, and responsive as you possibly could.
