The tone of this game is so gross and this sequel wallows in the worst aspects of skate culture, but the gameplay is great

At this point Tony Hawk was just kind of unnecessary. THUG's open world and refined story helped sell a game that in and of itself had problems with diminishing returns. This just falls victim to another studio demanding a series go on longer than it should. That's not to say it isn't well made, it is quite refined as most Tony Hawk games were.

I don't get the hate for this title. The story mode of this game doesn't string you into so many lame mini-games as the first THUG did and the freedom is better implemented. While I admit some of the levels this game adds are lame, they also bring back a plethora of old levels and the old classic mode which gives you an insane amount of content. They don't add any meaningful mechanic to the game but THUG 2 is Far better than THUG 1 just by cutting the garbage and on sheer content alone.
