VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action

The bartending gameplay is fairly rudimentary but is a satisfying complement to what is ultimately a glorified visual novel. At its core, this game is about the people you interact with and Jill's personal demons. While they are at times exaggerated, VA-11 has a cast full of likable and believable characters who also contribute to interesting world building. Jill herself is fantastic, going through many interesting arcs. It can be a bit tiring to play at times, but VA-11 is well worth the time.

Great setting and writing, but a little unclear about how the drink mechanics work, which breaks some of the "illusion of choice."

Bit of a weird one. What gameplay there is is pretty much secondary to the interaction between the characters. Some of the world and its inhabitants piqued my interest, other parts just made me roll my eyes. I can't say I came away from playing this thinking "that was good", but at the same time it kept me wanting to play.
