The year is 2054, and 2 alien species have chosen Earth as a battleground for their war. Sensing Earth's destruction, the governments choose for humanity to evacuate the Earth on a great spacecraft known as the 'White Whale'. However, they were pursued by one of the alien races, and, drawn into the gravitational field of a nearby planet, the Ship split up and crashed. Miraculously, there were many survivors, but many of them are lost in places around the planet, now known as 'Mira'. (IMDB)

The music is so silly but it's kind of endearing. I also like that you can get a mech. It does change the XC formula a tad, but a lot of it is still what you expect. Just lesser than the first one.

Compared to the first Xenoblade, the game's plot and cast is even more vanilla and tepid. Still, this game does improve upon the original's combat even if it's still nothing stellar. I also like the overall world more as it actually felt like you were exploring an alien planet rather than going down a really large corridor like the original. Despite this, I liked the original a bit more due to having a more charming cast and having less of the cumbersome crap that X has.
