"Possibly the meh-est of all platformers in existence. They just didn't pull off what they were trying to do with this game. The characters aren't charming enough to be mascot worthy, and none of the official levels are memorable or particularly fun. "
||Outer Wilds (2019) - Jun 09, 2021
"Outer Wilds is utterly unique. The experience throughout is nothing short of mesmerising. Words cannot do this game justice. Even if the core gameplay loop is spoiled for you, this is a must play. The game is easily in my top 10 DESPITE some of the frustrating mechanical hiccups I occasionally experienced. If, like I was, you are on the fence, e.g. because you find the starting area and the tutorial boring: don't be. Just jump in and keep playing until it hooks you. You will know when it does."
||Days Gone (2019) - Jun 09, 2021
"Days Gone is the most pervasively flawed game I have played through and enjoyed despite all its missteps. Almost everything about the experience is mediocre: poor writing, subpar voice-acting, bland 3ps combat. The game's biggest flaw is its overemphasis on boring cover shooting in lieu of focusing fully on the game's best mechanic: hordes, which should have been the game's main combat mechanic. Yet it isn't introduced until the final third of the game. Game definitely has its charm, though!"
||Half-Life: Alyx (2020) - May 13, 2021
"Half-Life: Alyx is one of the best games I've ever played. It is the first and so far the only VR game available that feels like it fully utilises the potential of the medium to create the types of action experiences we've only been able to dream about until the advent of VR. I believe this game signifies the beginning of something utterly wonderful, that it will facilitate the change that games as a medium has been needing for a long time."
||Shenmue II (2001) - May 13, 2021
"Shenmue is the most overrated "cult classic" video game ever made. Shenmue 2 is also that, and it doesn't even take place in Japan. Heed my advice and just play the Yakuza games instead. What you seek in Shenmue you'll probably find in Yakuza."
||Sea of Thieves (2018) - May 12, 2021
"Total snoozefest. Tried it out on more than one occasion with my friends. The game just fails to engage me in every way possible. The graphics are literally the only redeeming quality of the game, but it just isn't enough to keep me engaged in the redundancy of the gameplay loop. I'm utterly dumbfounded at my friends' enthusiasm for this chore of a game."
