Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020) - Rated 10 Dec 2024
"Fun little spinoff if you like the OG."
Nosferatu (1994) - Rated 05 Nov 2024
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (2007) - Rated 28 Sep 2024
"Lighthearted (and lightweight) Indiana Jones clone. Good for some zippy fun, but it even with its short length, it threatens to overstay its welcome, mostly due to its repetitive and outdated gameplay."
Injustice: Gods Among Us (2013) - Rated 22 Sep 2024
Cyberpunk 2077 (2020) - Rated 11 Jul 2024
"I can't be the only one who thought the guy on the cover was Justin Timberlake."
Fallout 4 (2015) - Rated 11 Jul 2024
"Pretty good stuff. The story is fine (with at least one good twist), but the true value of this game is in all the side quests and companion stories. Liked the Boston location and accompanying lore. The Minecraft-y settlement building was OK but got tiresome after a while (at least until I discovered the cheat for duplicating materials and then farmed XP by building statues). Curie best girl."
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (2017) - Rated 11 Jul 2024
"(Placeholder score.) A classic (some would say generic) fantasy story with all the tropes and clichés you could ever think of. The synth music is very repetitive and got so obnoxious I eventually turned it off. The characters are appealing enough, and the story gets better after you've assembled your party. Good voice acting. Wasn't a big fan of the "kiddie" aesthetic, especially the Pokémon-like enemies with goofy designs and punny names. Persona 5 has ruined me on JRPGs, I guess."
Assassin's Creed Odyssey (2018) - Rated 09 Feb 2024
"More enjoyable than Origins, but that might be because I love Greek history and mythology. The core story of reassembling your family is strong, but, once again, there's just too much going on here to provide a focused, streamlined experience - maybe I'm just getting impatient in my old age. Still good overall."
Assassin's Creed Origins (2017) - Rated 09 Feb 2024
"Something of a reinvention for the series, which was in dire need of some new ideas. The setting is once again stellar, and the new mechanics are interesting, but the sheer bloat of this game (the enormous map, too many meaningless side quests) makes the replay value far less than the earliest entries in the series."
Assassin's Creed Syndicate (2015) - Rated 09 Feb 2024
"An improvement over Unity, which isn't saying a whole lot. The Victorian London setting is cool, but the cracks in the formula are getting more obvious."
