Unfinished as hell (fuck you corpo rats!!!!) but the writing and map are easily as good as Witcher 3 and honestly surpass it at times for me. Loved the combat and traversal and characters. But yeah it’s not fuckin done, is it? So this score is more of a placeholder for what it will eventually become.

I would be easy to jump on the bandwagon of shitting on this game, as it has many legitimate issues with bugs, but CDPR still did what they did best which was make insanely interesting characters and side stories that can take dozens of hours if one wanted. The look and feel nails the Cyberpunk essence, now it just needs tidied up and fleshed out. Fix it and ramp up for DLC.

I didn't play this game until 3 years after release. I really enjoyed it! I didn't run into any significant bugs. I really enjoyed the story.

I'm so glad I waited 2 years to play this until after it was finally fixed. The state it was released in was unacceptable, and you know it was a case of the money people forcing out a product they knew wasn't ready and giving short shrift to all of the creative people who made something incredible that just needed more time to finish. CDPR are some of the best storytellers in the game industry at this massive level, just above Rockstar and just below Naughty Dog I'd wager.

The writing is just so horrible, it outweighs nearly everything else it has going for it.

Buggy, glitchy, clippy-through-wally and game-breaky as all hell. And I love it. It needed 6 more months in the cooker, and poor console players, but the base game (on PC) delivers on what I expect from CDPR games: well written story and characters. Most games just aren't written or paced this well. It's sorry state betrays the treasure hidden beneath its beautiful but coming-apart-at-the-seams exterior. Truly a diamond in the rough. I will happily replay once it's patched and presentable.

Wow this is such an unfinished mess. Probably the most impressive city ever created in video games to look at but when you start exploring, it feels empty and is full of unfinished locations that are either unescapable traps or you fall out of map into the void. As an open world RPG it sucks, but if you focus on main and major side quests and look at it as a semi-linear story-driven shooter it's actually a lot of fun. (PC version, played from D1 till 1.06 patch)

On the day of release, the character creation was terrible and nothing like what was described prior to its release. The AI is currently pretty bad - NPCs jump in front of your car rather than away from it, they barely react to you, police spawn right behind you, and if you leave your car on the road it creates a traffic jam. I am sure these things will be improved upon in the coming patches. The world is impressive and is ultimately what I wanted from a cyberpunk RPG.

Taking away the absolute disaster of a launch for this game, this game is fantastic playing this back today. I love the story which had me gripped throughout. The setting is great and the different ways you can play dependent on your style is also great fun to experiment with new ways of approaching missions. Such a shame that many skipped over this because of the launch but it warranted as this was unplayable at first. Plat difficulty - 4/10 - So many gigs to do.

I judge every open world RPG by New Vegas and this doesn't reach it though it cud've Force-feeds truckloads of story whether you want it or not Bad weapons Grindy combat Mechanics not well enough explained. Text is tiny on steam deck "Choices" mostly meaningless, too much 'go here and press X'. Great world but its just a background to the mostly linear story, not a place you can really explore. Too much dialog and de facto cutscenes But put a lot of hours into it and many parts were fun

My favourite game so far almost everything in this game has got so much love and heart poured into it and you can see it everywhere. I played it on PC at launch so I can only speak for that version. Amazingly written game with amazing music and great characters that feel real. Game was initially ruined by corpo greed with a bunch of cut features, but it seems they learned their lesson and are letting the devs actually work on the game.

My original rating was probably the "worst" 70 points i ever gave to anything, but i still couldn't shit on something that had obvious heaps of hard work and dedication, but was hindered by internal quarrels, time issues and politics. Two years later we get a free 2.0. Which is in itself a miracle, any other company would've moved on, made this a costly DLC or just a sequel altogether. Which CDPR sorta kinda did with phantom liberty, but not really. And what can i say? It's awesome now! Play it!

A graphic/artistic masterpiece, with a good cyberpunk story, ruined by a unbalanced and exploitable gameplay. (PC version).

A disappointing story nestled within great cinematic direction and facial animation, surrounded by poor combat / stealth mechanics, a laughably underdeveloped open world, and to many bugs to count. Even if the game launched in a polished state, we'd still only be looking at a 5/10.

I find it incredibly difficult to score this one. There was so much that was SOOO GOOOD, and so much that was SOOO GODDAMN TERRIBLE. all in one package. Which is in itself a unique experience i suppose. I score it high, because i did indeed thoroughly enjoy playing it, all the way to the end. Also, it pissed me off, A LOT at times, for very dumb reasons. Also some design decisions they made are absolutely bafflingly bad. The greatest game ever thats also a massive fuck up i guess??..

not that bad, however too much waste loot and repetitive side quests, too much repetitive elements in game, main story get to much distraction

I desperately want to like this but I just don't. There are virtually nil RPG elements. It's an action adventure game, which is not something I'm interested in. In the light of its TRPG roots and the potential it held, it's a small, stale, sad shadow of what was promised.

Riddled with bugs, poor hit detection and just not that much fun overall. Picking up items and weapons are extremely annoying. And this is playing on the PS5. I can't imagine popping in the disc on my base PS4.

Rating based on the PS4 version. Borderline unplayable from a technical standpoint. Can't imagine the smoother-running, less crash-prone versions are any less wildly underwhelming in terms of dialogue, voice acting, AI, buttons/systems, interactivity, etc. It's a really big, pretty bad game.
