Incorporates a much stronger RPG element than the base game - I found Songbird to be a fantastic character in how ambiguous her motivations were and the reactions I had to her twists and turns. I felt Reed was well-written but Myers & the NUSA came across as so cynical that it was easy to turn against them.

Just started playing this in 2023. Now on my second run through. I fear that many other games after this one will just not be good enough by comparison. Fun to mod, fun to play, sexy, exciting. Also i am a but biased since Blade Runner is one of my favourite movies.

Phantom Liberty isn’t a warning; it’s a monument to a canceled future. Cyberpunk is now a retrofuture we consume because we cannot imagine what comes next. V’s crisis—a body overwritten by proprietary tech—is the perfect allegory for platform capitalism: the self as a leasehold. Exploring Dogtown’s decay, built by the crushed labor of actual developers, we realize the future wasn't stolen. It was subdivided, walled off, and sold back to us as atmosphere. - Full Review

Along with the reworking of a game that was already amazing, this DLC tells a really good, emotional story with a ton of twists and turns where your choices matter. I thought the ending dragged a little bit, even though it made sense, but that might just be a me thing. I get what they were trying to do but I could have done without.
