Bomberman Hero

Bomberman Hero

1998
Action
Adventure
Bomberman Hero adds more weapons and character moves to the Bomberman formula. However, it lacks multiplayer and therefore focuses on the single player action. The story is similar to Star Wars; a princess steals a secret data disk from an evil empire and smuggles out the information through a robot, but is captured herself. Bomberman is training when news arrives about the princess being captured. Bomberman chases after the Garaden Empire to save the Princess. (Wikipedia)

Has reasonably enaging gameplay; the world just feels... a bit bare-bones. It's cute, tho.

This isn't as good as Bomberman 64, and is just a really different game altogether, bringing in the ability to jump and vehicle segments and more straight-ahead level design, pulling way back on puzzles and removing multiplayer entirely. You could even argue it's more Mario 64 than Bomberman 64. It is fun though! I remember sinking a really fun weekend into it way back in 1998.

Bomberman Hero is a fun adventure with some cool levels and powers to play with. However it loses a lot of points for cutting out the amazing multiplayer all the other titles in the series are known for.
