Dead Rising

The quality of the game surprised me, being a capcom game...

it reminded me of state of emergency. i really liked it for a bit but it was too hard and the checkpoint/save system was garbage

A solid game with a lot of bullshit. The time mechanic makes pathing your routes substantially more interesting and the aggression of zombies make preparation all the more satisfying. Boss battles are also surprisingly fun and creative. On the other hand, aiming guns is fucking atrocious and makes some bosses a hassle. The ai pathing is garbage with each survivor having specific attributes the game keeps hidden from you. A lot of the weapons are also worthless, especially in the late game

An awesome but somewhat flawed first entry into the series. It's hard to tell if survivor's AI is designed to be frustrating on purpose or by accident. You'll learn to hate Aaron as he crawls on the ground instead of following you to safety. Pretty decent story in its mix. The psychopaths are slightly campy but it works. Frank West is a very cool protagonist.

stop playing after an hour, controls really bad imo even after mapping. infinite walking simulator. Overload with rescue missions of NPC from point A to point B over and over again which does not sound fun at all.
