A good turn based combat system, but the game is too long and too bloated for its own good; it stops feeling fresh and interesting about halfway through. If it were a 30 hour game, my rating would be much higher. And why the heck can't you speed up the animations? Don't give me that "it would break co-op" nonsense, I'm playing single player! Apparently they made the same mistakes with the sequel.

The best combat system I've played in a long time.

Has some great gameplay and a neat dialog system, but the story and world are pretty bland even if it has some charming dialog in some places. This is still an extremely enjoyable RPG though, and the RP potential is impressive. The game could use some quality of life improvements (the journal looks like a clusterfuck) but it's a pretty refreshing take on the genre.

Its got a neat system good story. Some of the mechanics are a little off-putting but its still doable.

The amount of micromanagement that exists in this game was a little annoying, but everything else pretty much nails it. Involved quests, a wonderful combat system, cool story and music. I'm only talking about the original version here since all that's up right now is the enhanced.

i played the sequel first. was excited to get into this. but the world wasn't as interesting, the writing not as intelligent, and worst of all the story is some godawful good vs evil garbage. it's not bad by any means, just...well, larian improved.
