Europa Universalis IV

I've put a lot of hours into this game, but I don't think it's great actually. A lot of the game is spent just waiting, waiting for more money, waiting for colonies to grow or waiting for an enemy to become weak. There always seems to be some invisible element preventing you from doing something you want aswell which is very frustrating.

Too much micromanagement.

This is a hard game to crack into due to the mountain of DLC you have to buy to even get the full game. That said, the game has a lot interesting dynamics that interact with one another in cool ways. The nation you choose will dramatically change your goals and how you play the game. However, the game is most balanced around the start year and there are many nations who are just slow and plodding to play as. The mana system can also be annoying due to how RNG dependent it is.
