Fallout 76

The way it handles PvP is not actually bad because it eliminated a lot of griefing. However, there's also almost no tension so while I'm not sure how to fix that, there's not a lot of balance. Lacking human NPCs isn't the problem, it's lacking any real choice/consequences. Also, having a build limit takes away tools that are necessary for players to create their own stories (in the absence of real choices, that is needed), while also taking away desire to loot. It's passable with a friend.

PS4 had a free weekend with this so I gave it a shot. I had heard it was terrible, but it was worse than I had anticipated. Glitchy beyond belief, something as simple as aiming down the sights only worked 1 in every 5 or 6 tries. The online lag means you can kill an enemy and still take hits from it for a few seconds until the enemy's router pings and it realizes it's already dead.

Tolerably mediocre.

Somehow I don't think that Fallout 76 will be the game to convince Bethesda to make a modern video game engine despite it being broken in many fundamental ways. This game should never have been made and remains a blight on Fallout, Bethesda, and video games in general.

Could have potentially been a good game. Modern Bethesda is beyond redemption.

Spent a good chunk of time with this so far, I first started playing about a month after release and it's .... PRETTY GOOD. The world map is the best Fallout map. The super long holotapes for main missions kinda stink especially when they get interrupted. The side quest tapes though, oh baby they bring that Fallout flavour. Drown me in your lore. This game will not rape your family.

Nearly unplayable at times with its bugs and broken quests, so a typical Bethesda launch. The PVP is meh, they came up with interesting anti-griefing measures. When playing solo its a grindy bore, where almost no missions feel like there are any ramifications. We will see if it gets any better.
