There are interesting ideas in the gameplay here but it's tough to overcome that LJN shit polish.

what the hell is this lol. some swamp thing comes at you and you can kill it with i think rocks. then you go in the room and weirdly move through it and cant get anywhere so fuck this game

A classic bad game that is almost fun to play because of its awfulness.

This is a love-or-hate game with most people falling into the later camp. I find it a fun challenge. You play six counselors trying to destroy Jason and keep the kids alive. Why kids? Jason never went after the kids. Part exploration, part memorization, and inevitably you face the concept that the NES game made Jason near impossible to actually defeat. Games like this are why cheat codes came about.

Play it in the basement, summer night, lights off, under a blanket, and then fall asleep.

This is a classic, infamously bad game but it gets points for 1) being beatable, 2) being genuinely tense (for its time), and 3) some creepy 8-bit music.
