Great campaign with some great scenes and set pieces. Fun to play co-op, especially the new Horde mode.

A game which takes what worked about the original and added onto all those elements. The multiplayer is better and the addition of horde mode bolsters it even more. The campaign is a step up but still does not reach the ability to stand on its own.

This is where Gears peaked for me. Epic games injected the campaign with its namesake and most of my memories of the franchise revolve around segments from it. Slicing through a giant worm's insides? Love it. This is also where I dove into the multiplayer and, despite its insane learning curve, got pretty decent at it. Not to mention horde mode. Spent hours on that. Yeah, this is one of my tops from the 360 era.

Great game.

I just could not get into the campaign mode in this one, despite the return of some really interesting characters. The multiplayer, especially the Horde mode, was a lot of fun, but not enough to save this game from being a massive disappointment.

I like this game more than the original even though it more or less suffers from the same problems. Expanded multiplayer is nice but I never spent much time with it. It's not bad though.
