For those with a love of music but no time or ability to learn an instrument well enough to passably play songs, this was a fun treat. Not enough songs to keep the interest long, but the future was brighter.

This is for casuals. It'll get a low rating for me because I don't enjoy these games. Mainly your hitting buttons when the things on top of the screen come down to your section to hit the buttons. Exactly like dance Dance revolution only now you are using a guitar instead of jumping around.

When I first stumbled upon this I was instantly hooked. I think I stayed inside for 14 hours straight playing it. I didn't know it at the time, but this was just the beginning of my future addiction to music games.

On it's own, this game had some key quality of life improvements to make but I can't deny how well it set the stage for the explosion of the rhythm games of the late-00's. Actually playing the songs worked well and there would enough from multiple genres, decades, and skill-levels to satisfy nearly everyone.
