Hatoful Boyfriend

it's not a masterpiece of storytelling despite fans telling you to wait 'til it gets deep... but it's fun the whole way through, and shyamalan-style twists probably fit the goofy birb vibe better than shakespearean thematic depth. I am quite fond of exactly all but two of these birds. edit: on a second full replay I take it back. this is a masterpiece of entertainment. also I still hate two of you.

never actually played this, but how can you not like a pigeon dating simulator?

I think some people are far more in love with this silly concept than me. The puns felt bothersome; there wasn't any great depth in this dating sim visual novel. I went through one path, and I didn't feel any desire to continue after that.

A game, that was an April Fool's release, actually has surprisingly deep story and memorable characters. Once you get past the fact that you are romancing pigeons (... yes, all of it will be explained at the course of the story), it's pretty heart-wrenching at times. It does not pale in comparison to other games of the otome genre. In fact, it has one of the most well-developed stories of any dating games I've played in a long while.
