The game which established the notion that a "Bioware RPG" would henceforth mean a retread of the KOTOR formula with a different setting and different combat mechanics. Fantasy China was a fresh choice of setting, and vividly realized with the scope and characters you'd expect. The combat is a fairly simple console-oriented action system from 2005, with the RPG elements not really making for a great deal of customization; it was so-so enough for the time, but is far from the main appeal.

loved the setting. combat trash. love the bioware shit. wish i finished it when i played it in 2014 or whatever. wish i fuckin played it in 07. i need to finish that romance man and save the fuckin day. been meaning to watch a lets play and then try to continue where i left off. but that gameplay combat keeping me away lol

It's not top tier Bioware but it follows the formula. The story is ultimately pretty forgettable, and I don't think it feels right playing as a dickhead. The combat is a little wonky; you could tell that they just weren't there yet, it was humble beginnings. If you've played any Bioware, this is just a lesser version of their best games, but still worth some time.

Wow, it has John Cleese in it! Too bad the action combat is lame and super repetitive. I've blissfully forgotten most of the story, but I remember that the romances were top notch. Top notch!
