The encounter design is solid; the enemy design dynamically covers a lot of space and the game likes to mix 2 or 3 of these enemies together in ways that prevents the level design from being rigid. The tools you're given aren't horribly interesting and most of the time you'll only opt to other weapons if you want to deal with a certain boss, But the limited movement gels well with how projectiles are utilized in this game.

Honestly about as good a take on the Contra feel NES game as there was outside of Contra.
