Lode Runner is a platform video game first published by Brøderbund in 1983. Unlike later platformers which rely on precision jumping and movement, levels in Lode Runner are puzzle-oriented. It is one of the first games to include a level editor.

Simple, addictive, early NES fun. The game is just running around, picking up gold while dodging evil Bombermen and that's all you really needed in the 80s.

Complex, no. But as a quick-thinking, do-something, survive-the-level game, it's still pretty neat. Get the gold, dig the pits, outwit the baddies coming for you.

A classic action puzzler that teaches you the fine art of toying with your little enemies' AI. It was also one of the games that really did a lot to popularize the whole concept of level editors.
