Sometimes fanbases are so invested in a franchise that their emotions cloud their judgement. Yes, this is not nearly as good as the original trilogy; the open world is just busy work and adds nothing, being able to simply change profiles takes away from the experience, there were lots of glitches and the plot is meh. However, the combat is the best it's been, and the environments of the planets are nice looking. People overblow issues. I was disappointed too but c'mon.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is a tragedy wrapped in a train-wreck surrounded by nuclear fallout. I could maybe, MAYBE forgive the glitches, bad quest design, poor facial animation, convoluted gameplay, diminished multiplayer, elimination of several species, and bad voice-acting if the writing was at least good. The writing is woeful. The writing was so bad I had to replay the original series just to see if I was misremembering the quality of those games. I wasn't at all. This game is garbage.

i like the crew and romance stuff. theres some fun to the combat and crafting. world traversing meh. villain meh so far

It's not really THAT bad. It's just mostly mediocre and occasionally worse than that. The most damning thing is that I can't even remember the names of any the companions - except for PeePee, of course.

I think the crew interactions aboard the ship were pretty good. I think every mission and side quest and plot line and conversation and location and battle was underwhelming or bad, though. Incredibly dumb choice to start afresh by putting far fewer compelling races into the game than in the original.
