Mouthwashing

I like a lot of what it does in presentation but it's a game that's painfully unsubtle and obnoxiously overbearing about its themes. I did not like how its plot beats all function in service of one character's narrative arc which makes certain plot beats; particularly the Anya twist, feel like padding than a meaningful exploration of these specific traumas. It also has a tendency to pull the same visual tricks all the time that eventually overstay its welcome and ultimately become underwhelming.

an incredibly complex and subtle game

Bursting with creativity, passion, and personality and captivating every step of the way. Fantastic writing with a complete command over a complex non-linear structure that elevates strong character work and a compelling storyline. And the horror works perfectly and feels completely distinct. Loved every moment of this.
