An interesting game given its blend of genres, but also one that doesn't particularly blow me away. The writing in the game is pretty crappy - it has a tendency to dump out loads of pseudo-science exposition that often repeats itself and the big tweest with Aya is made blatantly obvious early on. The gameplay is this weird action RPG thing that has some excellent boss fights mixed in with some awful ones, especially when the camera becomes an issue. Worst part is finding keys - Fuck that noise.

I didn't like the gameplay that much but there was still enough to keep me going through the game.

Favourite RPG ever. At the time the visuals were gorgeous and they still hold up. The running in place animation when turning is a little silly but that's minor. This game fucked me up back in '98 when the rat turned inside out, and then it only got more twisted after that. The battle system was a cool mixture of real-time and turn-based, the story may be pseudo-science but I loved how it did mix real science in there. Awesome OST, Aya is a great character. A real gem.
