PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

Why didn't they just clone Smash Bros? Literally no one would've given a shit. Just clone Smash Bros with Playstation characters. The title is so fucking ridiculous that this HAD to be a Smash Bros clone, but no, it's about building up your special with attacks, and then unleashing your special, but you can miss with your special, so I don't even know.

I hate to give this game a low rating because I really wanted to like this, but the game ended up disastrously. The emphasis on building meter is incredibly dumb, especially since it narrowed down the sort of playstyles that'd be dominant. I also disliked the structure of the online, which forced every match against randoms to be done in a very specific mode. The casting choices weren't bad, but were underwhelming and outright questionable at times (why Donte)? A lot of missed potential.

It ain't Smash.

I will admit to not seriously enjoying the Smash series, those games are fine for what they are. This makes me somewhat rethink my initial assessment. Most people played this game wrong: it is designed around multiplayer 2v2 but even than, this game still isn't great.
