Resistance: Fall of Man

A lot of things throw me off about this; for a game about an alien invasion in WWII, it barely uses elements from that era. Most of the weaponry is anachronistic, and it ignores much of the politics from that time period. The premise is cool, but beyond some stock visuals it never really utilizes it. The game itself pretty stock in terms of design, but with its own unique annoyances such as enemies being overly damage spongey and a broad variety of weapons that are somehow boring.

I don't even like FPS games but this is just awesome, a blast to play!

Interesting setting with fairly run-of-the-mill gunplay. Cool to see your hometown in video game form.

It worked as a solid showcase of the PS3's potential but really little else. The shooter elements are just too thin to be the main thrust and the story is unmemorable. It does just enough to be good but not enough to be any better.
