SimCity

I know there are deeper Sim experiences but this was the one I played the most. The little Nintendo flourishes were nice and it was simple enough for a kid to play, while also offering a fair bit for adults. City builders are more complex these days, but I don't have the time anymore (or patience) to go through long learning curves... this was easier to get into.

The grandaddy sandbox game. There's nothing like puzzle solving your way through building up a model city of your own. The original is unsurprisingly pretty barebones on what pieces it gives you, but it's thoroughly fleshed out in terms of style and periphery.

Good for the time.

This game was on snes years later. I remember my friend playing this on there every single day. It's a game where you just build roads houses and businesses. Really boring. I must have had a lot more patience when I was a kid because I would sit and watch my friend play this all the time. Trash game I don't even know why they make games like this that are no challenge but just to pretend that you are a mayor.
