I got this game as a loose cart and before had access to the internet. I did not have the piece of paper you were suppose to get wet to reveal a 3 number passcode. I spent an afternoon going from 999 to 001 until it clicked. It's 747. I will never forget 747. You need StarTropic help: 747.

Enjoyable enough, if possessing of some obtuse moments. Nice soundtrack.

Often overlooked, Star Tropics was Zelda-like, and that worked for and against it, because Zelda did a lot of the elements better. It's still fun, though I can't say the story's deep.

Now this was a damn good NES take on Zelda formula, frankly probably improving on the actual original Zelda. Evoked a lovely tropical mood and feel on this archaic hardware that genuinely enchanted and sucked you into its world. Great dungeon design and boss battles. Controls a hair stiff.
