Weapons could now only be used for a few times before breaking and could be integrated with unique moves with certain characters, hidden characters were added and a few cutscenes were included to give the story greater depth. The game expands on SOR2's mechanics by adding new moves, expanding movement options while making mobility less clunky, and expanding blitz techniques. Unfortunately, Encounters are a lot shittier because the game doesn't mix enemy formations too well nor do enemies fill as many niches as SoR2, plus the gimmick levels are often awful. The game ends up feeling kind of monotonous despite the mechanical improvements, but I think it's still decent enough I wasn't completely bored.

Decent. The main thing in this game is that each character has a magic meter. Once that is filled to the top you can use you magic without losing life. Again all the characters have unique magic ability.
