The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

Would have liked to see some of the bugs fixed in this masterpiece

I’m glad they remastered it

It's unusual for me to rate what is just a polished up re-released, but this one deserves credit. This is what gamers want when it comes to a spruced up, modern port. Make it look like a modern game, but leave the core untouched. Some demerits for creepy character models. I know ES4 always had bizarre faces but they kinda worked. In this level of detail, they don't.

Not fixing decade-old bugs and broken systems is such a Bethesda move

It's a great game, but I've been suffering from open world fatigue for a long time now. If I didn't, I'd probably rate this a 90. Bethesda RPGs work not just because the world is interesting, but because there's other systems at play, such as leveling up things by doing them and a real level of freedom in how you interact with the world. Similar games have the big open world but not the rest. Oblivion gates are lame though and I don't care about the story.
