I wish that the sky was a little more populated with stuff to explore but I found the overworld (that is, the overworld once you descend to the surface) design kind of fascinating, with a mix of puzzles/monsters/obstacles that kind of met a 50/50 fusion between usual Zelda overworld and outdoor dungeons. I also enjoyed the boss battles and items and dungeons etc as I do in most any Zelda.

It's a pretty sad day when I would call a mainline Zelda title middling. It is the weakest of that lot by a country mile. The combat sucks because the Wii controller is just cheap and bad. There essentially is no exploration other than a boring sky with nothing in it. The dungeons are quite bland and unmemorable as well. Some of the bosses are fun, the first time around. If it weren't for the polish this game has I might call it bad.

Not as wretched as its reputation would have you believe, although some elements i.e Fi almost sour the experience. The motion controls can take a while to get used to as well. Still, it does enough right to be decent overall, the bosses are fun and challenging (with the one exception being the goofy tentacle monster on the ship) and the story is pretty well done for a Zelda game too.

I love motion controls and I love Zelda games but I really didn't like this. Trying to remember all the gestures distracted me from the puzzles, and the puzzles distracted me from the gestures, so I could rarely lose myself in the game. The remake gives you the the option of alternative controls, but they don't work very well. There's also very little exploration and clumsy use of anime tropes. There are still a few great moments that stick out in my mind.
