Thea: The Awakening

I'm liking the mechanics, and there's a lot of potential here, but it's a very unforgiving game. Each attempt I do noticeably better, but as soon as something goes wrong, it's hard to get going again. I haven't been put off persevering for now, though, which is praise in itself.

Its usage of mythology and storytelling is fascinating. While multiplayer is pretty crappy and being unable to expand your settlement is a letdown, what this game offers are a lot of interesting mechanics and some really cool town building. The decision making is also really good, as each choice you make feels important and drives how you play the game. This is possibly the best amalgamation of storytelling and gameplay I've seen in the strategy genre, and it deserves props for that.
