This War of Mine

A unique approach to war, but one that's laughably retarded - the context of war is completely ignored with none of the ethnic or nationalist fervor. The atrocities of war are also insultingly tepid compared to reality. That said, the gameplay is shitty because your chances of success are based on complete RNG and the game gives you little options to play around it. You have no way of actually preventing anything bad from happening to you, and often times winning is completely down to luck.

A great game if you want to sit around and be depressed as your group slowly suffers and dies.

Fun but too easy. Get an economy running and you'll blow throgh it.

In the end this is a management game, but I really got into it and found that I had to manage my own emotional state as well as everything else. A great game that brought something that wasn't there before.

There's a way this could have worked but it was executed poorly. The developers didn't have the necessary nous not to make this game feel transparent, shallow, manipulative, hamfisted ... This War Of Mine is The Walking Dead without the zombies to alleviate the tedium.
